GO! has now announced a premiere date for The Originals, the spin-off from The Vampire Diaries, which features two Aussie actors, Phoebe Tonkin and Clare Holt.
It will premiere on Wednesday, November 13 at 8.30pm.
Klaus (Joseph Morgan), a dangerous vampire/werewolf hybrid, returns to the magical melting pot that is the French Quarter of New Orleans, a town he helped to build centuries ago.
Acting on a mysterious tip that a plot is brewing against him, Klaus’s questions lead him to a reunion with his diabolical former protégé Marcel (Charles Michael Davis), a charismatic vampire who has total control over the human and paranormal inhabitants of the Crescent City.
Determined to help his brother Klaus find redemption, Elijah (Daniel Gillies) follows the hybrid and soon learns that Hayley (Tonkin) has also come to the French Quarter searching for clues to her family history … and has fallen into the hands of the powerful witch Sophie (Daniella Pineda).
Meanwhile, Klaus and Elijah’s sister, Rebekah (Holt), must decide if she will leave Mystic Falls to join her brothers in New Orleans and help them to reclaim their storied hometown and all its extraordinary offerings.

I love this but I can’t see it lasting on GO! it will be replaced by Big Bang Theory or movies after a few weeks.
How long will it stay on that slot? Let’s take bets…
Really enjoying the show now, 5 episodes in. Bit slow to start first couple episodes.
I’m really surprised I was quite sure they’d just hold it then onsell
The Originals had its world debut in the US at the same time of its parent The Vampire Diaries.
The Vampire Diaries got fasttracked here by FOX8 but The Originals will come to Go! weeks after its US broadcast.
Obviously FOX8 and Go! did not go into discussions about keeping their aforementioned shows in sync with each other, you know just in case there is a crossover between them which is something that usually happens with related shows.
Why would GO want The Originals when its parent show was shunned from the channel? Bizarre and sure to be replaced with Big Bang repeats after a week.
Only to be dumped by mid-season….
should have premiered tonight, being Halloween and all.
stupid channel nine
