Borgen, The Killing stars to visit Sydney

If you’re a fan of Danish dramas, the stars and creatives of The Killing and Borgen will appear in a one-off conversation, hosted by Julia Zemiro at the Sydney Opera House next month.

Following the 40th anniversary celebrations of Sydney Opera House, a series of cultural events will take place at the end of October 2013 with the participation of Danish and Australian artists, architects and designers. As part of this initiative, the cast members and creative powers behind the hugely successful TV series The Killing and Borgen will participate in a one off in-conversation.

Denmark is currently experiencing an extraordinary television boom, ignited by two of the most compelling and addictive dramas of recent times – The Killing and Borgen. These TV triumphs, from the powerhouse Danish broadcasting corporation DR, have established a global cult following with audiences far reaching – from Britain to South Korea, Canada to Australia. Having spawned American remakes, both groundbreaking TV series have placed Danish TV drama on the map; their recipe for success is the envy of the industry. Utterly engrossing and fiercely original, each show features powerful and compelling roles for women set against Denmark’s intriguing social landscape – one of their many distinguishing features.

SBS and the Sydney Opera House are proud to present the chance to get up close and personal with the stars and creators of the hit Danish Drama series, The Killing and Borgen on Tuesday 29 October. Hosted by popular SBS personality Julia Zemiro, this discussion will offers rare insights into these hugely popular dramas produced by DR and seen on SBS ONE.

Audience members will have the opportunity to participate in a Q&A at the end of the event.
