Chris Taylor and Andrew Hansen will again host the Screen Music Awards in December.
APRA AMCOS, and the Australian Guild of Screen Composers will present the 13th annual awards, to be held on Monday December 9th at the State Theatre, Sydney.
These will take place just after Tropfest, with the winner of Tropscore to perform their original film composition on December 8 at Centennial Park.
“What better way to highlight the significant role music plays in film, than by hosting the Screen Music Awards straight after Tropfest,” said APRA AMCOS CEO Brett Cottle. “We are delighted with the move and look forward to celebrating those talented composers who have achieved great milestones in bringing the stories we enjoy on screen, to life.”
Nominees across 13 categories including compositions for documentaries, short films, mini-series, children’s television and feature film scores will be announced on November 7.

4×3, geez… It at least goes some way to balance almost every group of fully grown adult women being labelled, “girls.”
Are Boyz2Men up for an award?
Don’t take it personally David – they’re hardly boys. as per JoeBloggs…it’s a cliche that everyone automatically reaches for when referring to the Chaser Men, the Chaser Blokes, the Chaser XY’s…
Of course they’re not literally boys. I see no problem with the term used generically. And girls. And men and women. If it had been all of the team I would have used “Chaser team.” Anyone care to discuss the awards then?
and for how much longer can they be called ‘boys’?!
For as long as I care to? What’s the problem?
The Chaser Boys’ (average age 37 & 1/2)

What do they have to do with music? Strange choice.
