New documentaries at the ABC and NITV have received funding in the last round at Screen Australia.
ABC has a 3 part series Life on the Reef from Northern Pictures (Kakadu). It look at a year on the world’s largest living structure, the Great Barrier Reef.
Essential Media and Entertainment will produce a one-off doco for ABC Waves of Anzac Cove presented by Sam Neill while Mint Pictures and Identity Films will produce a documentary on a family affected by sexual abuse, The Whistleblowers.
Mav Media will produce a doco for NITV, King’s Seal, which looks at Conspiracy, treason, betrayal, rape and murder in colonial SOuth Australia.
Screen Australia’s Documentary Manager Liz Stevens said, “Screen Australia is pleased to have funded a steady stream of one-off documentaries. These productions, along with the series Life on the Reef, are important stories that will offer audiences diverse opinions on topical subject matters.”
