Sam Armytage began receiving marriage proposals live on air today after her mobile number was accidentally given out on air.
Sunrise was talking to a tech expert about a new watch-phone, which he demonstrated by calling Armytage on air. But despite all the best pixellation intentions in the world, her number was visible to viewers.
Within seconds her phone began ringing.
“Why are lots of people calling me?” she asked.
“To everyone calling my phone, we’re changing the number today so stop calling!”
It’s all good. New number. Thanks for all the marriage proposals though……… pic.twitter.com/HDNe5L5qHo

I think she will be getting a new number, real soon
News.com.au are reporting they did the same stunt on USA Today show about a month ago.
Coincidence ?
If it wasn’t a setup – how precious is she to have to change her number straight away? Surely nobody would bother calling by next week… if not today!
I do love they are saying that it wasn’t a setup considering how similar it is to The Today Show number.
Not that Australia copies american shows.
Tonight live with steve vizard / dave letterman anyone?
Everyone who called will probably start now getting texts and calls trying to sell them something!
Total set up. He even took the time to upload a publicity shot of Armytage onto his watch.
I’ll sign your petition to legalise polyandry, Ms. Armytage.
Publicity stunt! Exact copy of what happened on the NBC Today show a few weeks ago, where Hoda gave out her phone number accidentally.

It was a set up…I happened to be watching as I was changing through the channels & I am sure of it.
On a side note, who need a phone with a 6.3″ screen? Just get a tablet and be done with it!
Rubbish. Publicity stunt, for sure.
