UK TV channel has acquired 227 hours of crime drama and entertainment programming from ITV Studios Global Entertainment including Inspector Morse, Lewis, A Touch of Frost and Prime Suspect.
These are all discontinued ITV dramas.
It will also get first-run episodes of quizshow Eggheads and The Royal Variety Performance 2013.
The deal does not impact on Seven’s first run volume deal in Australia or current ABC titles on ITV.
The deal was brokered by Dan Edwards, senior sales exec, Australia, at ITV Studios Global Entertainment.

They’all run many times on on FTA and cable. Anyone can pick up the nonexclusive rights for them. 13th Street recently showed Morse a million times before they moved on to Dalziel & Pascoe. Hasn’t UK TV already shown them sometime in the last 15 years?
UKTV has been starting Eggheads 5 minutes before the ABC’s 5pm screening, (and doing the same thing with New Tricks). So presumably they couldn’t wait to get their Quiz show off the ABC once the BBC deal with the ABC expires.
