Alec Baldwin apologises after homophobic slurs, talk show suspended.

"I am deeply sorry," says Alec Baldwin after again resorting to homophobic language towards a photographer.

2013-11-17_0110Actor Alec Baldwin has apologised after lashing out at a photographer with language that has attracted headlines and been criticised by gay-rights advocacy group, GLAAD.

On Thursday, TMZ published a video showing the former 30 Rock actor calling a NY Post photographer a “c**s***ing f**.”

It lead to MSNBC suspending Baldwin’s new talk show Up Late With Alec Baldwin for two weeks. The cable show only premiered on October 11.

But GLAAD responded by saying, “Alec Baldwin still needs to take real action. MSNBC has sent a message that anti-gay slurs carry consequences, and that’s an important standard to uphold at a time when LGBT people continue to face disproportionate levels of bullying and violence just because of who they are.”

“I did not intend to hurt or offend anyone with my choice of words, but clearly I have — and for that I am deeply sorry,” Baldwin said in a statement.

“Words are important. I understand that and will choose mine with great care going forward. What I said and did this week, as I was trying to protect my family, was offensive and unacceptable. Behavior like this undermines hard-fought rights that I vigorously support. I understand Up Late will be taken off the schedule for tonight and next week.”

But it’s not the first time Baldwin has been guilty of homophobic language. Five months ago he had to apologise for using homophobic slurs to violently threaten a British reporter who said his wife Hilaria Thomas had tweeted about wedding presents and TV appearances during James Gandolfini’s funeral.

“[I’d] put my foot up your f***ing ass, George Stark, but I’m sure you’d dig it too much,” he tweeted.

“I’m gonna find you George Stark, you toxic little queen, and I’m gonna f*** you … up.”

Additionally he called out to recruit “all my followers and beyond to straighten out this f***ing little bitch, George Stark.”

As CNN’s Anderson Cooper has now tweeted, “Wow, Alec Baldwin shows his true colors yet again. How is he going to lie and excuse his anti-gay slurs this time?”

  1. Just hard to hear that language from him. Maybe all the gay people who work on his show (I am sure there are many) need to make a stand & tell him to not just apologize but make amends to the LGBT community.

  2. It just doesn’t stop with this guy. And he has proved over the years what a thug he is. I can’t bear him or his over inflated sense of self with – with the old I can do what I want attitude. I don’t watch his shows for the above reasons
