Nine and the ABC have both received awards from the Association for International Broadcasting in London in the last week.
Nine won the Live Sport Coverage category for its ‘Boxing Day Test 2012′ broadcast, recognised for the use of the spidercam taking viewers “up close and personal”.
The ABC won the Children’s Factual Programme or Series award for My Great Big Adventure‘s Body Image episode, commedned for handling “a delicate and difficult topic sensitively and sensibly.”
Congrats to teams from both.

Congrats to ABC3- I’ve seen snippets of My Great Big Adventure, and what I have seen appears very sympathetic without ‘talking down’.

My thoughts exactly, I guess it’s a London based award so they were probably watching on Sky Sports in HD.
The award is a bit of joke though, every NFL game has the ‘spidercam’, do CBS, Fox and NBC get the award 100 times a year?
How can a network win an international live sports award when they don’t even show it in HD.
