The Love Boat cast reunites

The cast of The Love Boat reunited this week and singer Jack Jones even turned up to sing the theme song.

2013-11-09_0137The cast of The Love Boat reunited this week on the CBS chat show The Talk, who were dressed in costume.

Gavin MacLeod, Bernie Kopell, Ted Lange, Fred Grandy, Lauren Tewes and Jill Whelan appeared on the show, which aired from 1977 until 1986.

“I didn’t think we’d even get through the pilot,” admitted Fred Grandy, 65. “The first pilot that we did, we did over Christmas. So there was this tremendous feeling of, ‘Oh, the business is rewarding us with a Christmas cruise.’ But nobody thought it would go beyond that…The critics hated it. They said it would sink like the Titanic.”

Singer Jack Jones even performed The Love Boat Theme. Exciting AND new!

  1. Love Boat was just 42 minutes of enjoyable nothingness.

Enjoyed catching up with it when it screened on Eleven I think (another program taken off for no good reason).

And yes – Bernie Kopell was hilarious in the classic Get Smart.

Hate to say it though – but Lauren Tewes hasn’t aged as well as Charo!

  2. Wonderful Bernie Kopell! Incredible to see him still going strong!. I caught an ep of Get Smart last night with Fred WIllard. I love all of his guest appearances on Raymond and now Modern Family. Bernie was hilarious as Siegfried. Ah the Love Boat. That Aaron Spelling…..
