12 Comments:

  1. @JimboJones I’m enjoying it, but I agree. Jimmy McGovern is the Story Producer and I felt this way with his show The Street. Some amazing episodes but after a while you realised they all followed the same kind of pattern (the one you’ve outlined!) and it all got sort of boring.

  2. I wish to thank the ABC for the News. I’m sorry about the helicopter accident involving Paul Lockyer, Gary Ticehurst and John Bean.

Also thank you to Eleven for Star Trek: Deep Space Nine.

  3. I hope Wake Up/Studio 10 work but on the numbers so far its a long, long, long road ahead. Not share shareholders or management will have the patience required.

@Billy what’s on in SA/WA instead of Top Gear and hows it doing?

  4. Ten has to try and aim for a more constant 20% share and stick with the programs that work and slowly dump the total losers.

Wake up need a comedy act like one of the Project team on the panel to add a lighter comedy feel to add to the lovely background.

I like James but not sure if he can do that on his own. Not everyone understands his dry sense of humour.

Feel sorry for Ten now as they have been bashed enough by too many people. What do people want, slide show and 2 and a half men only ? Very sad to me – to see where all the support goes. 🙁

  5. Is it my imagination, or is Redfern Now just a bunch of morose, grumpy people shouting at each other all the time? And why is it so earnest and preachy?

Last night’s episode had some cringeworthy first-year-drama-school acting. The acting was good in the first episode, but then it went south.

I know everyone in reviewer land is enamoured with Redfern Now, but it’s basically the same story over and over again, just with different characters. Here’s the formula:

1 – Hot button event happens
2 – Everyone shouts at each other for 45 minutes
    3 – A miracle happens
4 – Everyone realises they love each other
    5 – Rinse and repeat

Everyone in the ABC’s Morose Drama Department must love it.

  6. Top Gear has taken another drop. Even with the 8pm time slot it couldn’t come close to B&TG and HIMYM from channel 7. Time to park the cars in the garage I think.
