I’m announcing some pretty cool news for my readers….
From today the TV Tonight Calendar (which recently replaced the Coming Soon section) now has a whiz-bang new feature which allows you to add programme alerts to your own Google Calendar or iCal (Apple / Outlook).
Just scroll to the bottom of a TV show entry and you can add it on the device you are using.
What makes this very cool is that in your Google Calendar or iCal settings you should be able to set up a Reminder SMS to your smartphone. Bonus.
The Calendar section covers a range of season premieres and finales across Free to Air and Subscription TV, but please remember sometimes these change, so it is a constant work-in-progress.
But I hope you appreciate this new feature!
Feel free to leave some feedback as you use this across the next few weeks.
You can find the Calendar section by hovering over the Programming tab in the top menu.
Meanwhile in other news, the site has also undergone a server upgrade which should mean faster loading times. Please bear with me if there are any teething problems as a result.

Down the bottom of the page I mean, it currently has 1,2,3 could you have it like 1 to 10 pages listed and so on. Thanks. Hoped that info helped more.
Thanks David. That’s great news.
But talking about upgrading, could you also add more number of pages, when searching the Ratings and News sections. Thanks. Love the Site!
Sorry David. I did a bit of testing and it was one of my ‘add-ons’ that was causing the issue. All good now.
‘k. Thx. Email on way.
That is pretty cool David. Thanks for continuing to improve the site.
On a related matter, any chance of removing the gap between the primary menu bar and the associated drop-down menus? I assume that it was a design decision to align them with the top of the secondary menu bar but if you don’t move your pointing device down fast enough, the drop-down menus disappear.
Noice!
Errr… David, I take it you don’t use the Firefox web browser much. For a while now, the background in Firefox is a dark grey. In Internet Explorer, it is white.
The black and light grey headings are hard to see, but I put up with it. This Calender is just impossible to read. I get the grey background with the purple text. This is unreadable. When you hover the cursor over a column, the background turns white, but the rest of the calender stays grey.
I’m using the latest version of Firefox – 25.0.1 (but it was happening with previous versions as well).
Not sure if there is anything you can do. 🙁
Site works ok in Firefox for me. It’s best to contact me directly for tech issues, so we can discuss your issues in detail thanks.
Umm, how do those of us who don’t use Google, or without mobile thingys get alerts?
Brilliant! Thank you 🙂
Thank you David!
Excellent addition David. I can stop emailing myself reminders now.
Now this is a fantastic update David which i am sure many TV Tonight readers will love, like me.
