Renewed: Big School, Citizen Khan.

Both Nine and Seven score with the BBC’s renewal of UK comedies Big School and Citizen Khan.

Big School is set to return for a second season, and Citizen Khan for a third season.

Created by David Walliams, Big School is set in an urban secondary school and is a comedy about a dysfunctional staff room and unrequited love. Starring Walliams, Philip Glenister, Catherine Tate, Frances de la Tour, it aired recently on Nine.

Citizen Khan, created by Adil Ray, follows the trials and tribulations of self-appointed Muslim community leader Mr Khan and his long suffering family. Starring Adil Ray as Mr Khan, it also features Shobu Kapoor, Maya Sondhi and Bhavna Limbachia.

It has previously aired in Australia on Seven.
