Returning: The Big C

I was about to blog a Christmas wish but Santa has saved me the trouble.

2013-02-14_0108I was about to blog a Christmas wish for GEM to schedule the final episodes of The Big C, but Santa has saved me the trouble.

The last four episodes will begin 11:30pm Monday January 6th.

I last blogged on this one in September. It’s been 12 months since it last aired so the return is long overdue.

This final season has changed the format from 8 x 30 to 4 x 60. Looking forward to this big time.

Adam is turning 16 and Cathy plans to throw him a party, despite his objections while Paul gets help on his motivational-speaking campaign from a new assistant. Andrea struggles settling in with her new room-mate at fashion school.

ps. thanks to Pete for alerting me to this one.

  1. Nine advises this season was distributed as 8 x 30 min episodes that could be played either that way, or as 4 x 60 mins. Not the first time I have heard of this for international markets. Nine will be playing in correct order.

  2. It’s good that they are finally showing the final season but according to the Foxtel EPG, Gem has shortened the episodes to 30 minutes and are showing episodes out of order with episode 3: The quality of death being shown next Monday before episode 2: You can’t take it with you.

Why would Gem mess with the final season of a show like this especially one which has only four episodes? and the networks wonder why people download.

    1. Hmm, I see they have indeed divided into 30 mins. I will ask what’s going on, maybe the distributor sold them this way for international market. Nine guide has Quality of Life pt 2 next week, so at least it’s the right order.

  3. Nine have been really good lately for returning shows they are behind on. Community, The. Middle, Weeds, Big C, Unforgettable, Mentalist and so on.

    hopefully they keep it up!

  4. This is the best news I have heard so far. Thank goodness this is returning to our screens soon.

A shame about the timeslot though, but nonetheless, yippee. Its back.
