It includes current TV1 titles including Seinfeld, The Nanny, NCIS, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, CSI: Miami, CSI: NY, Law & Order, Everybody Loves Raymond plus The Mentalist, Friends, How I Met your Mother, and That ’70s Show.
The programming follows titles acquisitions from Sony Pictures Television and previously announced library deals with Hollywood distributors CBS, Warner Bros., 20th Century Fox, Carsey Werner and NBCUniversal.
Under the Sony Pictures Television deal, Foxtel has also secured rights to Bewitched and I Dream of Jeannie, set to air on TVH!TS’ sister channel 111 in January.
Foxtel Executive Director of Television Brian Walsh said “TVH!TS will be the new destination for many of the favourite shows Foxtel subscribers know and love.
“In addition to producing bold new Australian programming and express delivering the latest international first-run shows, Foxtel provides the must-watch series that are true television hits. Celebrating all-time great shows such as Seinfeld, Friends, the CSI franchise and Everybody Loves Raymond – that’s what TVH!TS is all about.”
TVHI!TS replaces TV1 in Foxtel’s Essentials package available to all subscribers and will be found on Foxtel channel 101 with TVH!TS+2 on channel 151.
But the launch spells the end for TV1 and SF (formerly Sci-Fi) in Australia.
Law & Order: SVU and Law & Order: Criminal Intent will be on the refreshed Universal channel from January.
