The BBC has released a 7 minute online prequel for Sherlock, which begins in the UK on January 19.
The video titled “Many Happy Returns”, includes Dr. Watson (Martin Freeman) and Detective Inspector Greg Lestrade (Rupert Graves) -and maybe even Benedict Cumberbatch.
No airdate for Australia yet.

A wildly ridiculous idea I’ve had is they play the first 5 episodes of series 1 & 2 on GEM over possibly 3 weeks. And on the week before ratings in February they replay the last episode of series 2 to remind viewers what happened in it on Nine. Also to try to get the viewers before ratings start if possible. I’m not stating what day because it is up to them.
For myself I could live with repeats on GEM after midnight if it is best they do it on a day I can’t watch. Even if I can I might watch it twice unless there is a power outage or I’m tired. I hope they don’t play the repeats against Four Corners or Media Watch near midnight. Probably totally impossible idea now.
Actually Sherlock is returning to the UK on January 1, 2014.
Looking fwd to the new season of Sherlock. Hopefully nine won’t take too long to screen it.
