Bill Cosby plans TV return

Bill Cosby is reteaming with his Cosby Show producer on a new family comedy series.

2014-01-24_0222NBC is reteaming with Bill Cosby and producer Tom Werner on a family comedy.

Variety reports NBC is hiring writers and Cosby would star “as a patriarch in a multigenerational family.”

But so far there is no pilot order and no studio is attached.

The Cosby Show which Werner produced through his production company, ran from 1984 to 1992 on NBC while Cosby, which also co-starred actress Phylicia Rashad, ran from 1996 to 2000 on CBS.

  1. Sorry, I meant The Cosby Show in my last post. When it was on, everybody just called The Cosby Show Cosby, and that has caused a lot of confusion over the years.

  2. Let’s hope this time around they don’t bring in any characters like Cousin Pam to try and make the show “more black”. As soon as Cousin Pam came into Cosby I was out of there.

  3. As long as it isn’t a remake of a UK show again like Cosby was, for me that version of One Foot In The Grave was not very good at all, I wasn’t surprised it flopped here in Australia (granted it went 4 seasons in the US, but for me I couldn’t stand it).

  4. Watched his stand up comedy that recently aired on comedy central in america and he still has it so i think it should be great if it goes ahead. Although he is a bit old now???
