Sunrise showbiz go-to guy Nelson Aspen has been nominated by the Publicists of the International Cinematographers Guild for their 2013 International Media Award.
Aspen, who has been with Sunrise for over ten years, competes with two other Australians:
FilmInk’s Philip Berk, a former president of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, and Peter Mitchell from AAP. Elisabeth Sereda from Austria and Lynn Tso from Taiwan are also nominated.
Aspen was chuffed to be the only American nominated for the award.
“That old chestnut, It’s an honour just to be nominated, is actually true!” he told TV Tonight.
“I’m extremely flattered (and a bit excited). It will be tough to beat Philip Berk!”
The winner will be announced on Feb 28, the Friday before the Academy Awards.

I thought Ang Bishop would of got nominated as she is dedicated to showbiz more then Nelson. They have got the wrong person
Yes William, anybody on your beloved TEN. You really need to vary the tune sometimes? I doubt even Angela would not say she is “more dedicated to showbiz” than a colleague. She would also need to be a member of the International Cinematographers Guild and I’m not clear if she is or isn’t.
Great news, but sorry Nelson I have to root for the Aussies!!!!
