There are 8 episodes in this season starring Bruce Springsteen’s very own guitarist Steven Van Zandt in the lead role.
Pop on a bullet proof vest and grab a tub of popcorn as SBS presents the second explosively hilarious season of popular Scandinavian crime drama Lilyhammer direct from the snowfields of Norway. Steven Van Zandt (The Sopranos) returns as the fish out of water New York gangster turned informant.
Mafia boss Frank ‘The Fixer’ Tagliano (Van Zandt) a former underboss of the mafia has been forced to enter the witness protection program after testifying against his associates. A unique cultural exchange takes place and the results are comical as Frankie finds himself in a minefield of situations taking on his new identity as Norwegian-American immigrant Giovanni Henriksen in the sleepy town of Lillehammer, Norway.
In season 2, Frank continues to live under the guise of Giovanni who has become a successful nightclub owner and more recently, a father of two. His encounter with the Norwegian paternal role is riddled with challenges, which he has to juggle while running his criminal operation. To make matters worse, Frank’s entire past threatens to catch up with him, when his former mob associates learn that he is still alive. And the overall problem exists that the more attached Frank grows to Lillehammer, the more he has to lose.
Lilyhammer is a clever drama filled with blackmail, extortion and violence as Frankie aka Giovanni continues to rein supreme over Lillehammer’s criminal underworld.
Wednesday 5 February at 9.30pm on SBS ONE.
