TEN appoints new Head of Development

Exclusive: Former TEN Head of Factual Programming, Dafydd Williams, returns as Head of Development.

Dafydd WilliamsEXCLUSIVE: TEN has appointed a new Head of Development with former Head of Factual Programming Dafydd Williams, returning to the network.

He replaces Lisa Fitzpatrick, who departed in November.

Williams worked at TEN from 2006 to early 2012, initially as Network Executive Producer and then Head of Factual Programming, responsible for The Biggest Loser Australia, MasterChef Australia, Bondi Rescue, Bondi Vet, Recruits and The Living Room.

Chief Programming Officer Beverley McGarvey, said: “Dafydd is one of the best-connected and most experienced producers in the Australian television industry. His appointment is part of the strategy to build our management talent across all departments of Network TEN.

“We are very excited to be welcoming Dafydd back to TEN. The development of new shows is, of course, a key area for us and Dafydd’s skills and experience will be a great addition to our local programming and production team.”

Prior to TEN, Williams was an Executive Producer at Southern Star Entertainment and Beyond Productions. He also worked in the UK broadcasting industry for 12 years, including roles at the BBC, ITV and S4C, The Welsh Fourth Channel.

His credits in the Australian production sector also include Big Brother, Ready Steady Cook, Hot Property, Hot Auctions, Better Homes and Gardens, Money, Beyond 2000, Megastructures and Science Frontiers.

“I’m delighted to be returning to Network TEN and it will be a pleasure to be reunited with the talented team of friends and colleagues,” he said.

Williams begins on January 31st, reporting to Beverley McGarvey.

  1. I just read that Andrew Bolt’s comedy show The Bolt Report has now been extended to an hour. Is this one of the brilliant programming decsisions of Daffyd Williams?
