Tennis and Cricket battle for ratings glory

Ratings: Six nights of the Australian Open gives Seven the week, but One Day Cricket manages top spot.

2014-01-27_0104Summer is still all about sport, but with two weeks to go until the start of official ratings, networks are now getting stuck into their big guns: Reality TV.

Seven won the week over Nine, and TEN managed to defeat the ABC.

The top show of the week was One Day Cricket at 1.49m viewers. The highest audience for the Australian Open was 1.37m viewers. The biggest the Big Bash could pull was 610,000 (beware of media trying to talk up audiences of 1 million plus -these include regional audiences and peaks.)

Seven won the key demos 16-39, 18-49 and 25-54.

Seven won every night except Sunday, which fell to Nine.

Seven was also victorious in 4 cities, with Nine taking out Brisbane. ABC bettered TEN on Tuesday and Friday.
