British character actor Roger Lloyd-Pack, best known for Only Fools and Horses and The Vicar of Dibley, has died, aged 69.
Lloyd-Pack had pancreatic cancer and had died at home surrounded by his family.
Sir David Jason, who starred alongside him in Only Fools and Horses said, “I was very saddened to hear of Roger’s passing. He was a very quiet, kind and unassuming actor who was a pleasure to work with.
“Although he played the simple soul of Trigger in Only Fools And Horses, he was a very intelligent man and a very fine actor capable of many roles. I shall remember him with fondness and for all the good times we had together.”
Lloyd-Pack, who also starred in the Vicar of Dibley as Owen Newitt,
He was also a regular in Hammer horror films and dozens of films and TV shows including Doctor Who and Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.
Shane Allen, the BBC’s controller of comedy commissioning, said: “The nation bids a fond and sad farewell to one of the most popular television sitcom actors of his generation.
“Roger Lloyd-Pack enjoyed a long and successful career which spanned everything from the hugely iconic Trigger to roles in Shakespeare at The Globe.
“He will be greatly missed and his work will live on for many years to come. Our thoughts are with his loved ones.”

Very sad news, but his legacy will live on in some on the funniest moments in some of the best British comedies of recent decades.
Would love the Telegraph to name the Hammer films he was in – can’t find any Hammer title in his biog.
Oh wow that is so sad – 3 character actors dying around the same time. Gilligan’s Island was my favourite program when i was a kid.
Russell Johnson,the Professor from Gilligans Island and Dave Madden,best known as Reuben Kincaid from The Partridge Family have also died.

I loved the role he played in The Old Guys with Clive Swift (Mrs Bucket’s husband in Keeping up Appearances)
Enjoyed what I saw of his work…another sad loss..
He was hilarious in VoD (even if his character was disgusting he had a sort of lovable quality to him), RIP
