  1. @DansDans I love 7 but totally agree with you.

9 shot themselves in the foot with a doco/news thing that barely anyone is interested in

In saying that im taping Love Child tonight to watch 7

  2. @David Knox – Every time a tv week editor writes about Ten shows it is always negative. And the Adelaide Advertiser does not favour Ten, ever. I look at the Australian Television/Broadcast section and Ten is no favourite there. Rupert has an agenda, not sure what Lachlan thinks about it as I feel he wants Ten to succeed.
When Ten showed Commonwealth games from India, the written media in Oz killed any ratings success be4 that event started and yes it was a failure. Bad press reports still work at this time as many believe it must be true if it is in a magazine or the newspaper. Maybe when you work for that network you feel the daggers more. I thought it was a shame for the games from India. 🙂

  3. We just got the latest tv week and in there is an article about if SYTYCD can succeed. The editor of tv week says No. That is one of Ten’s hurdles most written media is against them.
To me an Editor of tv week should not show such blatant bias.
In Adelaide the Advertiser Poo poos every show on Ten, even if their Shine production company has produced the show, such as Biggest Loser.
So Ten Network has a few more hurdles to jump than the pet networks of those people.
How do I know, I worked for Ten for nearly 17 years and have noticed that bias for a long time. Since Ten sank 2 years ago they have dug the knives in deeper.
What heartens me is that posters on hear feel similar and they watch and support Ten and do not want it to disappear. I certainly don’t, even though I am retired now as I like many of their shows.

    • I don’t see an issue with an editor having an opinion if they back it up. At the end of the day all you can do is be honest. Balance is important, if they criticised or praised every show on a network then their readers would start to call them to account. There’s a theory that News Corp actually favours TEN rather than the other way around, and we all know how The Australian feels about the ABC.

  4. To all those that watch programmes on Ten and One. You give me hope that not all viewers want to be fooled and manipulated by especially 9 and to some extend by 7. Smarter viewers often just watch the ABC.
We like to watch across all networks but 9 gets the least time from us. I hate it how the patronise their viewers and assume they are not very bright or certainly gullible. That attitude prevents me from switching to 9 apart from the Voice, a rare gem for that network.
7 has made theatre out of MKR’s I can watch it and do so as my wife wants to see it but I know they are manipulating us by putting the same character types in there every year now. Unfortunately the vast majority has fallen for it and thus huge ratings.

  5. Ten please move SYTYCD to Sat night where you can establish an ‘event night’ like what happens on Sat nights in the UK.
It could prove to be a great alternative to AFL (& NRL during finals) & give Ten a shot at a decent figures rather than getting smashed on Sunday nights.
Why do people think no one is at home to watch TV on Sat nights? The ABC certainly doesn’t.

    • ABC programmes for an older demo on Saturdays and it works for them. TEN’s costs would prohibit a recoup on Saturday when the core audience is out doing their own dancing. Even Hey Hey struggled on Saturday nights.

  6. Congrats on SYTYCD making the top 20.
For all those they comment on the state of ratings. Rather than say what were Channel 10 thinking, What is Australia thinking? How many times can people watch bitchy ppl cook and build. I would rather watch talented dancers (with some production issues)!
Say Yes, Thank You Channel Ten (SYTYCT)!
