10 Comments:

  1. I am glad The Checkout did well. I did watch Sherlock. The watermark caused some sort of headache trying to block it out while it appeared. I guess I just have to be motivated enough to put up with stress related headaches to watch television these days. Unfortunately there’s not much I’m that motivated for. Oh well. I am grateful they put it on. I found it enjoyable otherwise although I didn’t like the morality of it. Top notch actors, music and production.

Before I watched this I did come up with another strategy for playing Series 4. I’ll note I’m doing my best to learn. But it is slow because I don’t have all the information. I have to observe and imagine stuff. As I’ve said before I really don’t envy any of the programmers. It’s just stressful even when things go right. There’s always the next problem.

  2. @Trev – agree 100% with your comment about the Block building non existing quality or standards. Yet they auction those places off and silly fools buy them. Ah well at least they get to enjoy that building for a few weeks be4 it falls to bits around them. Aussies have a facination with properties and renovation and 9 have exploited that expertly.
Ten did a good job with the Winter Olympics and we enjoyed the coverage, especially on ONE. Sad the viewer numbers were not better but still not too bad. Aussies like to see Aussies win, so that is one limitation, not just for Ten. 🙂

  3. I personally cannot stand MKR, Masterchef or any of those rotten reality shows. As for the Block, all my life I have been a metal working tradesperson who has worked mostly with wood and I wouldn’t let any of those dingbat DIY’s any where near a dog kennel, let alone a house.
The ratings for the Sochi games have not been good, I believe 10 had to reduce its advertising fees to retain advertisers, nevertheless I have enjoyed their coverage.

  4. @maxdude – 7 & 9 both get a lot of support from the written press. That does not persuade someone like me to watch the block. I strongly dislike that program.
MKR on the other hand has entertainment value, so we watch it. Masterchef is still my favourite as it contains real cooking with some great chefs as guests.
Ten gets almost zero backup from print media yet they survive. The block is worn out recycled rubbish now. 9 show it too often and have burned it out. Simple fact.

  5. With or without Grant Denyer, MDM continues to be trounced by Hot Seat.

With or without Chris Bath, Seven News Sydney continues to be easily beaten by Nine News.

  6. Interesting! The only night the Block wins, is Thursday night. And with only around a million or so – channel 9 may be happy, but it certainly isn’t the show it used to be. Sorry, but not brought up in conversations, like MKR is. Used to be, but not now.
I think Channel 2 will win as of next week, with Janet King-it looks amazing!!

  7. Thursdays are there for the taking Network 10. I watched Tricked for the first time – it was okay but I was a little disappointed given the promos. YL&DUC was dreadful.
