Dear Today Tonight, these emails were probably meant for you.

Ask anyone who has ever worked on Today Tonight or A Current Affair and they will tell you the same thing: for all their faults, these shows champion the little guy, giving a voice to people with stories to tell.

In the years that I’ve been editing this website, I’ve received numerous emails via my Contact page, from people who mistook TV Tonight for Today Tonight. Many of them rip into me about some story I am allegedly responsible for. Ouch.

But there have been plenty pleading for someone to give airtime to their grievances. The traffic fines, the custody disputes, the pensioners who have been ripped off, the land grabs, employees underpaid, overcharging by utilities and more.

Where they will now go without Today Tonight on the East Coast is anyone’s guess, and while it’s easy to smirk at the suburban catastrophes that are out there, some of them are quite sad.

It’s also alarming at the amount of spelling errors and lack of punctuation that are prevalent amongst them.

But I admit to looking forward to hopefully receiving no more emails from people to whom I have constantly had to reply, “Sorry. I am not Today Tonight.”

Hi, regarding a segment on Today Tonight on the 1st July of the catnapped ginger and white cat! Our ginger and white cat is also missing and we believe it was a catnap he would never leave our family, such a unique and loving cat and the kids are distraught also looking for closure . We have put up posters ads on gum tree called the RSPCA and nothing. We are quite worried as he is a very sheltered cat. He original lived around [deleted] but has gone missing. Thanks, all the best regarding this segment and we feel for the family who’s cat was stolen.

 i live in a set of  6 units and we share 1 water pipeline as well as wastewater line, all the residents are well into retirement age, between 70 to 94 years of age, except myself, we have all agreed that our waste water cost is extremly high $ 252.91 per quarter, 1 of the tenants has complained on behalf of all tenants here at [address deleted] to no avail, water board said it was voted in and next meeting wont be for another 3 years. Do we have any rights with this matter ? as i stated we are on 1 pipeline that feeds each unit, so all water costs are divided evenly, wether their is 1 person or 5 persons in the unit , all water usage is divided between the units, my/ our most concern is the waste water costs which also is on 1 pipeline, which exceeds all other cost on the water bill, can you please let me know if their is anything you can do. Parental Alienation is also referred to as Hostile Aggressive Parenting and it is a form of legal child abuse. It occurs when one parent undertakes a deliberate campaign to turn the child against the other and undermine the child’s love for that other parent. Australian doesn’t recognize this as abuse, I have not seen my children as of [deleted]. The issue is I have my children 50 % to 65% of the time. And I have a parenting agreement signed by both parties. But the x has taken the children on my time and has left town for how long don’t know to tell the truth. BUT she has contacted CSA and ceture link and they now have her down as 100% care without any information or anything she just took them ( the Children ) called them ( CSA) and it has changed my life and that of my children. So can I have a call in reply?

hi, there is a 75 year old bloke who apparently cant read and write, i was talking to his brother yesterday for the first time and got some info that i didnt know about before, he lives near the [deleted] farm,[deleted] the farm was bought by a [deleted] who lives in the area, when the farm was sold the owner (brother of the bloke i was talking to), of the access road which apparently is in the wrong place so he fenced it off, there is apparently access to the [deleted] farm via their road, he bloked the road off and it ended up in court, once on appeal and the 75 year old bloke is now $80000 worse off, he is paying it off in small installments, so he’s in debt because if circumstances that got out of control, this happened in the last year, i can contact this bloke if you wish but i think it was bullying by the [deleted] to get his way that ended up in court instead of coming to proper agreement, thanks, [deleted]

Due to ill health I can no longer work and am on a disability pension. I contacted my super and was told that I was only entilted to $8,000.00. They sent me a lot of forms to fill out which I did except for one (the employers form), I told them that I was not employed and that this is notwork related, it is an illness that is not going to get better. Now they have told me that because I was employed as a casual whilst I was employed I am not able to claim because I am classed as a contractor.  I am writing to you because I don’t know what to do. If you can help in any way I would be gratful.

I would like to find out if you guys are doing charity work. My friend is really in need of help as she is the only bread winner of her family. She has a disabled daughter who is full time care and her husband stays at home to look after her . He is unable to work himself as one of the had to make a choice to stay home and look after her.She works all shifts and hardly has time off to rest as she needs to work to pay their bills. Her husband looks and manages things very well but can only do so much. When she comes home it’s like a second job. They have not been attending to their home much as this is not a priority on their list right now.I know that her coming home every night to a house that does not require a lot of management that is comfortable and relaxing would do her good.If you guys could please help in any way it would be greatly appreciated thank you.
