Retired Formula One driver, Mark Webber, has joined TEN’s commentary team for the 2014 Formula One Australian Grand Prix.
He will join TEN’s Greg Rust, Alan Jones and Daryl Beattie at Albert Park in March.
Webber ended his 12-year career last November after winning nine Grands Prix.
“I am delighted to be working with Network TEN around this year’s Australian Grand Prix,” he said.
“I have had a fantastic relationship with the TEN guys over the years and it’s great to be working closely with the team on this year’s event.
“I am really looking forward to the season ahead with Porsche in the World Endurance Championship, and with a later start to that championship in April, it gives me an opportunity to return to Melbourne and have some fun from the other side of the fence.”
Network Ten Head of Sport, David Barham, added, “Mark’s contribution to the popularity of Formula One in his home country over the last decade cannot be underestimated and we are thrilled to have him join our commentary team for the 2014 Formula One Australian Grand Prix.”
The 2014 Formula One Australian Grand Prix will be broadcast from Friday, March 14, until Sunday, March 16, Live and exclusive on TEN and ONE.

Hopefully he doesn’t stack his car on the way to the studio.
@Aussie_Austridge – Bernie Ecclestone is looking it agree on a 2yr deal with the Grand Prix Organisers. If it were to happen it would be up for renewal at the end of the 2017 season. Does anyone know if Ten are going to commentate for the qualifying and the race and opt not to take Sky Sports F1 HD commentary team only for Aussie round
Finally they have someone who will know his stuff.
Has Bernie Ecclestone made his annual threat yet to take the GP out of Australia unless the Victorian government showers him with even more millions of dollars of taxpayers’ money?
Mark Webber should be a good Australian Formula 1 Commentator for Network Ten. I think he has a lot of experience during his Formula 1 Racing Career.
David he will be joined by Mel McLaughlin, Tom Clarkson and James Allen
Excellent recruitment from TEN, and it follows on from grabbing Ricky Ponting and Adam Gichrist for the Big Bash. Both were excellent.
And some love for Mr Greg Rust. Such a pro host. I don’t watch much racing now, but watching Rusty again on the Winter Olympics has been a pleasure.
I’m sure he’ll have a few insights into Sebastian Vettel to share with the audience 🙂
