27 Comments:

  1. I wish to thank the ABC for the News at 8pm on ABC News 24. Also Eleven for Supernatural. I did catch a bit of the next show but it wasn’t for me. Thank you again to the ABC for Q&A as well as Lateline (before midnight ).

I’m also extremely grateful the orange dot computer graphics are being used as they are the least stressful of anything they’ve tried up there. I didn’t detect any typos either. Although I don’t want to mention them because of the bad karma. Which I don’t usually believe in. Seriously though perfection is impossible. I don’t expect it. Most reasonable people don’t. Lastly I’m very glad Lateline is back.

  2. Hey David, did you know about the new set launch for 7 news in Adelaide last night. Was a massive change with new desk, giant screens and backdrop. Very different to the sets in Sydney and Melbourne.

  3. @Trev – you dont like Ten much but many people do.It is just down to different likes and dislikes. We watch a lot of 7 and some SBS ans 2 but 9 get the least of our attention. Just different preferences. I hate how 9 treat viewers like dumbos and take them for granted. Only show we watch is the Voice. 🙂

  4. @ dylan2012,

I can’t see advertisers falling over themselves to show off their products on TEN beause of this revelation. I am certain that one important thing they would have paid closer attention to is the fact that just about everything else on TEN has tanked, or is about to tank when the Olympics end.
The Commonwealth Games may help slightly, but after that I’m afraid it will back to the same old shows watched only by a cult following.

  5. Thanks @WolfieBoy yeh I get that this is the system. Is it to far fetched to consider that a TV executive or TV station owner could hire a PI to find out who has these devices, and god forbid persuade 1 or 2 of them to…. You can see where I am going.
    #justsaying

  6. Don’t know if anyone has noticed but Ten Eyewitness News numbers on average over the last few months appear to be climbing. Especially in Adelaide and Perth were they have gained. Around 10k in viewers.

  7. @Bella04 -I sympathise but it is the closest to a working measuring system we have and I have followed Oztam for years when I was working fod Network Ten. The only thing that can improve it is to supplement with viewer voting each day over the Internet and restricting it to one submission per household per day. I wish that would be considered by Oztam.

David why does the consolidated result hammer Ten so often?

  8. It’s a shame about the Numbers for SYTYCD I am in my 50s and have really enjoyed the talent of the dancers and surprisingly the Judges are very likeable as well. MKR is a great but getting very predictable, judging by the water cooler talk the last couple of mornings I struggle with the accuracy of this system. Really had enough of the whole Schapelle circus and seris link the Block.

  9. Seven’s possible Corby family interview will likely go into Sunday Night in between MKR and INXS where it got 1.8m last night.

It’s not like the Corby interview is likely to to any harm to those numbers.

  10. Corby is out and happy for her – now Media people – get over it. She is a nobody. Serves 9 right for trying to profit showing news specials about real crooks.

Olympics last night was watched by us on ONE all night. The sports on were not the most popular which dropped it out of the top 20 on Monday. All depends on what they get provided by Sochi and what else is on – up to a point.

  11. SYTYCDA was terrific last night. Great production and wonderful dancing. It is a ratings flop though – but only because Ten management have thrown it up against the high rating and supremely awful MKR.

Seriously – 2m people sat down last night to watch a couple of girls cook fish and chips and listen to a Jack Nicholson impersonator bitch like a little schoolgirl?

Don’t watch the show -but seen so many bloody promos and that is more than enough for me. Putrid rubbish.

  12. That is going to hurt a lot for So You Think You Can Dance Australia last night. Do not put this show against My Kitchen Rules. Rather than putting this show against MKR and The Block: Fans v Faves, why not Friday and Saturday nights? Or shift this show to Eleven?

  13. You read my mind David. I was going to ask if you could post the figure for SYTYCD. I think Ten should can it for now and perhaps air it later in the year when there is less competition because there’s no way it’s going to recover while MKR and The Block are on.

  14. Perhaps now the broader media will take the hint that there’s a lot less interest in Corby than they would like?

Will be interesting to see how the interview goes after all the chatter of chequebook journalism.

  15. Oh dear. I wonder if 7 is worried they’ve paid too much for her interview – it looks like public interest might be waning already?

If I was 7 I would be trying to round up celebrities for a Celebrity MKR later this year – I think it would rate extremely well.

David how did TBL and SYTYCD go?

  16. MKR certainly seems to be exceeding all expectations it is doing so well, and seven news seems to be pulling it’s socks up in Sydney and even Melbourne although it still has a way to go but can see them coming good later in the year if they keep up this momentum.

  17. do you know what the Schapelle movie got second time round? Nine totally stuffed that up, they could’ve had good ratings last night if it had been the first run.

MKR just keeps going, it’s really such good TV!
