Sorry Greg Kinnear, this time it is Richard Roxburgh who will be seen in Rake across the US, Canada and the UK, thanks to Netflix.
C21 reports the Essential Media production will air in all three markets on March 1st.
Until now only the remake, starring Greg Kinnear, has aired in the US. Its first episode drew 4 million viewers, despite stiff competition from NBC’s Winter Olympics coverage.
The third season of Roxburgh as Rake is airing Sunday nights on ABC1.
The Kinnear-led version will air in Australia on the Universal Channel.

Netflix was established in 1997 and it’s still not available in Australia? No wonder we are a nation of pirates.
gee when are we getting Netflix here in Australia?? it is on my WD box but always says ”not available in your country” when I try to go into it.
While I love this show, some of the humor is in knowing the context and who the characters represent, which may be lost on the American audience.
Last Sunday night episode was a case in point with a lot of insider references to the Labor Party and rich and powerful people, which made you laugh because you knew how close to the bone the show was cutting.
I could see an American rewrite working, simply because they can integrate their own characters and know situations.
Still good luck to the Australian produces on the sale.
Rake has been airing in the US on DirecTv’s Audience Network since 2011: tvbythenumbers.zap2it.com/2011/04/04/critically-acclaimed-drama-series-rake-acquired-by-directv/88101/
Season 1 and 2 can still be watched online via their VOD
They will be starting Season 3 as well very soon
