The US adaptation of Shameless has been renewed.
Showtime has handed 12 episode orders after what has been the drama’s most successful season-to-date.
Across its fifth season, Shameless has been averaging averaging 5.5 million weekly viewers across various platforms, up some 8% compared to last season.
Meanwhile the US version of satirical medico Getting On starring Laurie Metcalf, Alex Borstein and Niecy Nash has also been renewed.
They air on SoHo and Showcase.

It’s the 4th season of Shameless that is on at the moment. It has been renewed for a 5th. The 4th season has been the best.
Emmy Rossum is also very good.
I prefer Threfall’s Frank, he has some charm. Macy’s version is largely evil, so when they try to do sentimental stuff with the character it just doesn’t ring true.
I love the US Shameless, it’s brilliant. William H Macy playing such a hardcore addict is so gritty and real, he’s amazing.
Surprised Getting On has been renewed, but pleased.
Like both US versions of the shows but Shameless is on the SoHo channel.
