Ryan Phillippe is in final negotiations to star in the US adaptation of TEN’s thriller Secrets & Lies.
The Hollywood Reporter claims Phillippe will play the lead role, portrayed in the upcoming TEN series by Martin Henderson.
Ben Garner (Phillippe) is a house painter and family man who stumbles across the dead body of his 4-year-old neighbour while on his morning run, but who becomes the prime suspect in his slaying.
The American adaptation, which is produced by Kapital Entertainment and Australia’s Hoodlum is written by Barbie Kligman (Private Practice, The Vampire Diaries, CSI: NY).
For Phillippe, the role marks his return to television following his role in Damages.
The TEN series, which also has a UK broadcast secured, is due to premiere soon.

@jtshadow65 Rake & Kath & Kim are just 2 off the top of my head where the Aussie version is definitely better than the US version.
i can think of many um the show Wilfred a Australian show has a US adaption its better then the original, the US version of the office was great till going down hill in the later seasons, the show being human(original UK) the US adaption is better then the orignal the only crappy US adaptions has been Skins & the Inbetweeners
“most people know that american versions are usually better then the original show”
I beg to differ on that one.
Very few American adaptations are as good or better than the original in my view. I can think of perhaps only 1. But I suppose it’s a matter of taste.
when is Australian ( the original) going to air & if the american version goes well any chance its going to air here because most people know that american versions are usually better then the original show
