Sullivan Stapleton injured, Strike Back may be delayed.

Australian actor Sullivan Stapleton has suffered a serious injury in Thailand where Strike Back is being filmed.

Australian actor Sullivan Stapleton has suffered a serious injury in Thailand where US action series is filming Strike Back‘s fourth and final season.

The injury occurred while Stapleton was exploring Bangkok in his free time.

A representative for Sullivan issued a statement: “Following the accident in Thailand, Sullivan is resting comfortably and on his way to a full recovery. We appreciate all of the well-wishes and support.”

A statement from HBO/Cinemax, Sky and Left Bank Pictures says:“After an off-set accident involving Sullivan Stapleton, there has been a change in the Strike Back production schedule. Following completion of shooting in Thailand, production in Hungary will be on hiatus to allow him time to recover. We plan on resuming production in the fall. HBO/Cinemax, Sky and Left Bank Pictures all join in wishing Sullivan a full and speedy recovery.”

Strike Back had been slated for 2014 on Cinemax but may be delayed whilst Stapleton resumes full health for the show’s many action scenes.

In 2011 Chris Vance was injured on the set of Cinemax’s Canadian-based production The Transporter, delaying production for several months.

  1. Not sure any delays will affect us much here, since we’re two seasons behind (unless they’ve been snuck through in some late night slot when I wasn’t looking…). Hope he has a quick recovery though.
