@Paul007 – agree with your comment. Ordinary Aussies don’t get to see it. What a waste – I hate Foxtel and they should only be allowed to show sports fta tv never shows. 🙂
Channel 9, should have bid for the rights for the Cricket. Looking at Foxsports numbers for it, I bet they wish they did. I think this tour could have possibly drawn more viewers than the Ashes in the UK.
@kabigon Please wash your mouth out with soap for suggesting more prime time cricket. Enough is enough.
Spicks and Specks was better last night but still not a patch on the original. It’s nowhere near as funny and the team captains don’t have the same depth of knowledge.
I’ll give it another crack next week but I think that’ll be it for me.
OTH, Mad as Hell was excellent, even without Vomitoria (and a kraken was released!).
Block challenge days have always been a waste of time (filler) and it seems the audience may finally be starting to see through it. As for the ABC, I thought Spicks was much better last night, but it seems audiences were only going to give it one chance.
Last Weds The Block dipped to 975,000, this Weds it’s 964,000, Nine probably still consider that okay, however seems the Challenge Day 200 thousand odd people turn-off (hovering around 1,100,000 most other days).
Could have been a different story if Nine had the rights to Aus v Sth Africa (it’s not The Ashes, but not exactly an unanticipated series…) with the recent ratings success of Test cricket. A 7.30pm start time would put it directly vs MKR and offer a good alternative vs reality, especially given last time when the cricket was on GEM, it didn’t seem to impact Nine’s primary channel much at all.
I can’t believe that many people, actually choose to watch, people cook or renovate?
Gee, could it be people are becoming weary of the rising body count on Blacklist?
MKR is a runaway this year, I believe the series was designed for or by channel 7 and its great to know that it was not an overseas format that has been used but our own aussie one. Seven news seem to be gaining a larger audience also now don’t know if Mark Ferguson is the draw card or just better news reporting, but I also liked Chris Bath as a news reader, both are very professional in my opinion.
Lucky the ABC don’t care about ratings and commercial viability otherwise Spicks & Specks would be in a lot of trouble right about now 🙁
Saying that, last nights episode was great, the show is in the swing of things now. Mad as Hell was also fantastic… it’s great to have a solid hour of laughs on Wednesday night again!
@BarryDBag, that does make sense, only 11 people watch Neighbours!
The Block is starting to hurt a lot after being beaten by Channel 7.
Do they call it Channel 10 because thats how many people are watching? Poor Loser.
