2014 Kids’ Choice Awards: winners

The 27th Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards were held in Los Angeles yesterday with a bevvy of stars in the annual slimefest, hosted by Mark Wahlberg.

This year’s KCAs featured dual stages, a 360 degree mosh pit, a slime river and a slime rodeo featuring Dave England and Jukka Hilden -and the kids loved it all.

Wahlberg, who had been teasing throughout that he was “un-slimeable” was setting himself up for buckets of green goo to shower down on him before the show ended. As all good performers know, it’s a badge of honour to be slimed.

Also copping the green stuff were Pharrell Williams, Kaley Cuoco, Nicola Peltz, Jack Raynor, Austin Mahone and Aussie Cody Simpson. Even the winner envelopes were dripping in green, causing LL Cool J to accidentally say “Jesus Christ” while trying to announce a category winner.

Winners included such names as One Direction, Jennifer Lawrence, Robert Downey Jr. and Chris Rock while Nickelodeon Australia hosts Luke and Wyatt announced the winners of Aussie-voted categorie from a slime hot tub during commercial breaks.

Kids’ TV hit-maker Dan Schneider received the first Lifetime Achievement Award presented to him by the stars of his series iCarly, Drake & Josh, Victorious, Sam & Cat, Kenan & Kel and Zoey 101.
