Nothing to see in weekend gossip about a romance between Sam Armytage and Eric Stonestreet.

On the weekend the newspapers got inexplicably excited about a potential romance between one Samantha Armytage and Modern Family‘s resident funny man Eric Stonestreet (none of which was filed here).
The pair had lunch after Armytage tweeted that she would love to meet Stonestreet while Modern Family was filming in Australia.
Stonestreet responded, apparently staying longer in the country to meet her.

Despite a Matt Moran’s famed Chiswick restaurant, all talk of romance has been denied.
“Can I say publicly that Samantha has denied any allegations of a romance, it was just a five-hour lunch,” Sunrise co-host David Koch said.
Armytage added: “Don’t believe everything you read in the paper.
“There’s nothing to talk about. There’s nothing to say. It was a lovely lunch.”
She added, ” …he is a lovely man, very funny, very lovely. Very different.
“He’s definitely not gay!”
True. But he is pretty bloody convincing!

He’s married isn’t he? So there wouldn’t be romance there anyway. Gee, can’t 2 people have lunch without everyone making a big deal of it.
