Airdate: Latitude Zero

FUEL TV follows Mark Occhilupo, Pete Murray, Mark Gasnier and Ash Grunwald on a surfing trip to the Mentawai Islands, Indonesia.

2014-03-18_1022Tonight FUEL TV screens the first of Latitude Zero, a two part series following new-found mates Mark Occhilupo, Pete Murray, Mark Gasnier and Ash Grunwald on a surfing trip to the Mentawai Islands, off the coast of Sumatra in Indonesia.

Latitude Zero sees Mark ‘Occy’ Occhilupo speak candidly about the dark periods in his life; when he left the tour after shooting to fame, his depression, losing shape and then how he turned his life around to not only just return to the tour once again, but his rise to world champion.

FOX Sports NRL Commentator and Panellist, Mark ‘Gaz’ Gasnier, credits surfing for giving him the ‘balance’ he needed during his NRL playing days, particularly when his negotiations with the Dragons fell through after he was named as Captain – which in turn led him to leave the club (and NRL) for a two-year stint playing Rugby in France.

Gaz also references Phil Gould’s (former NSW coach) advice to find hobbies outside of League, which for him was surfing, saying it isn’t a bad thing to have outside interests.

6pm on Tuesday, March 18 on FUEL TV.
Part two continues on FUEL TV at 6pm on Tuesday, March 25.
