2014-03-24_0103Originally due to air on Nine, US sci-fi The Tomorrow People will now premiere on FOX8.

This US remake of the British series which aired in the 1970s is headed up by Greg Berlanti and the cast includes former Home and Away star Luke Mitchell.

Earlier in the year Nine’s Andrew Backwell confirmed TTP would air on the Nine Network this year.

They are the next evolutionary leap of mankind, a generation of humans born with paranormal abilities – the Tomorrow People. Stephen Jameson stands at the crossroads between the world we know and the shifting world of the future. Up until a year ago, Stephen was a “normal” teenager – until he began hearing voices and teleporting in his sleep, never knowing where he might wake up. In desperation, Stephen decides to listen to one of the voices in his head, and it leads him to his first encounter with the Tomorrow People – John, Cara and Russell – a genetically advanced race with the abilities of telekinesis, teleportation and telepathic communication. The Tomorrow People are being hunted down by a paramilitary group of scientists known as Ultra. Unwilling to turn his back on humanity or the world of the Tomorrow People, Stephen sets out on his own path – a journey that could take him into the shadowy past to uncover the truth about his father’s mysterious disappearance, or into an unknown future with The Tomorrow People.

7:30pm Thursday April 3 FOX8.

  1. This is good news for me, simply because Fox8 have fewer ad breaks than 9 and I hate ads.
(Actually it must be years since I watched anything on 9, so I’m presuming nothing’s changed there….)

  2. I think they should repeat it on GO! As stated maybe before The Originals. If it doesn’t work out then play it after The Originals instead. Because they do theoretically seem like a good pairing. I too did see last year ads on GO!

Another crazy idea is if they play Chuck at around midnight sometime. If they have the rights maybe play The Vampire Diaries after it the other show ends at midnight from the beginning. If they want to be daring do it earlier. There is so many episodes they could choose to play it either weekly and take a long time to catch up. Which I wouldn’t mind. Or play it maybe 5 times a week to have The Originals and The Vampire Diaries in sync. Even if the wrong seasons because of Foxtel.

They then could play The Originals then The Vampire Diaries after. Doubt it would ever happen. But it is my ridiculous idea that occurred to me based on someones comments…

  3. I had seen a ad on GO over summer saying it was coming soon, but I guess they thought they’d see how it would turn out in the US with ratings and if it would get the axe.

strange they get rid of this show and not The Originals, they could have aired this instead of Big Bang repeats at 8:30.

Nine/GO take forever to repeat Foxtel shows. where’s the final seasons of Chuck, Gossip Girl, Spartacus?! why haven’t they played Vampire Diaries and Pretty Little Liars after Foxtel have played them?

  4. It makes more economic sense for Nine to on-sell these shows to Fox8 and air repeats on Go!

Tomorrow People started ok but it’s ratings dropped fairly quickly and it’s been sent over the top against The Voice, and dropped further. The 100 has started well in its old slot.

  5. I watched this the first time around, Peter Davison in a jumpsuit: a sight to behold!! I didn’t watch the second and I can’t watch the third as I don’t have the PayTV. Damn you Channel Nine.
