  1. Big Numbers for Resurrection. Did not watch it and I don’t think I will, got essays to write.
I think those who have posted are right in saying that that numbers will down in the next couple of weeks.

  2. I must admit I saw the promos ad infinitum and had no desire to watch, so NCIS, Elementary and Graham Norton from Sunday night fitted the bill for me.
There is such a thing as too many promos and risks turning some people off.

I liken it to show about Alcatraz, which was the same plot/story every week with different names to protect the innocent. How long did that last ?
I think Aussie shows like Janet King and Dr Blake are great examples of what we can do.

  3. Can channel 11 get rid of couch time it crap.

I love watching LA NCIS and NCIS and I don’t think ten will move it to channel 11 or channel one.

Resurrection was ok it not a eye catching show for me.

  4. NCIS: 419,000 ????!!!!
    I’m just really sad!
How long will it be until CH10 takes it off
& gives us the excuse that it doesn’t rate?!
You have ruined a wonderful show, CH10!

  5. Typical for this genre… They start out with a very interesting and intriguing premise, then bloat it out to a show that rapidly descends into the mire of being an upmarket soap opera. Like Jericho and Flash Forward, it will shed viewers in numbers equally as impressive as it’s first airing.

  6. Saturation advertising works! Who knew? (apart from the promo people obviously…).

Numbers for Resurrection will prob fall to around 1.5m next week and 1.2 for ep 3. Seven will be happy enough if it stays around a mill after that.

Meanwhile, I and a few others were watching “the original” on SBS – now that actually is high concept, complex, intelligent drama.

  7. Tuned in with the other 2m and liked the show but like similar offerings, wonder how the storyline will be sustained. Amazed that the kid knew how to plat a game on the mobile phone and then find the function to write Arcadia. Sure they weren’t around in 1982 when he died.

  8. Predictable pettiness by 7 and 9 as they both screen a “special” about the missing Malaysian airlines flight at 9.30 last night. It really is quite juvenile that once one network decides to put something like this on, the other network follows suit. To capitalise? To spoil?…..who knows the reason, but it is pretty silly.

  9. I will be watching this week-to-week.

I am sucked in, and was from the promos that first aired.

When my soul and spirit was lifted by the content of thus said, then I knew this was for me.

  10. The Returned on SBS is absolutely fantastic, creepy as and wonderful twists and turns. SBS seems to have my three favourites, The Returned, Borgen and Lilyhammer. Strange that the ABC hasn’t chased any of these. Channel 4 in the UK has no problems screening subtitled dramas.

  11. Resurrection will not keep those numbers… such a silly show.
The problem with TBL is the over exposure of the trainers & host in too many commercials for vitamins & the like. I would never watch the Aussie show again but would sit down & watch the US show any day of the week due to the casting of the contestants & the host & trainers.

  12. Can we just declare the ratings year over already, it’s similar to the supermarket duopoly (except in this case it’s Seven and Nine versus the rest).

Poor poor Network Ten, the fact it is being beaten by SBS is a good reason to officially hit the panic button! As a graphic designer, you have to give Ten credit for their marketing, it’s just a massive shame that no-one, and i mean no-one is watching!

Ten does have some quality shows (Secrets and Lies is a great example, well executed…it’s just no-one is watching, they would rather watch a show about forced adoption from the 60’s), but the numbers in my opinion don’t stack up, what about the regional areas?

Being from a regional area myself, i think we deserve a say in what is watched…

  13. Sorry, I tuned out when it came on. Driven to distraction by the overpromotion on Prime. Although the kids and I amused ourselves one time when watching an ad, every time Red Foreman said something I added “dumbass”.

  14. I thought resurrection was terrible, there will be a huge drop, but with 1.9 it can afford a huge drop and still be a success.

If ABC2 didn’t start jimmy Fallon this week TBL would be knocking on the door of 7th in its slot.

  15. Predictably huge numbers for Resurrection.
Found it pretty ordinary myself .
Premise is intriguing but the execution was pretty average and of course it’s been done so much better in shows like he Returned.

Will give it another couple of weeks though.
(And yes, the all white church was OTT).

  16. 7 news in Sydney continues to struggle. They need a new set ASAP. The hosts look like they’ve been shoved into a bathroom sized studio with a tiny wall of a backdrop. I can only assume the news set has been relocated for the 4pm and 7pm bulletins. Compared to the 9 and 10 sets, it’s woeful. Improve the set, add another presenter, and change the graphics then I’m positive ratings would turn around.

  17. In the USA it rated its socks off first ep and fell 20% week 1 and another big % week 2. Same will happen here. My guess though is next week will rate under 1.5 million and settle around 900,000 later in the season.

I was not going to watch it, but the ads definitely were interesting. I watched it and the start was good and my interest waned as the episode went on. In the end I switched over the last 15 minutes as it got a bit boring for me.

Nonetheless, it get 1.9 million in a first episode is amazingly good and 7 will be thrilled.

  18. I will be amazed if The Biggest Loser returns next year on Channel 10.
People seem to be sick of that show, the ratings are a fair indicator that viewers are over the whole fat people losing weight thing.
Didn’t watch Resurrection last night – was it worth all the hype?

  19. It will be interesting to see how many viewers are still watching by episode 3.

I predict 1.2 million for the second episode and 900,000 by episode three

  20. So much for Hamish Maclennan turning around the fortunes for Ten ….. If this is the case for TBL, then MasterChef is surely to follow suit …..

  21. This might reinforce the survey results that it is drama we are looking for. Will be interesting to see what the ratings are like in a few weeks time. Flash Forward also started with these sort of numbers before being shafted again and again by Seven.
