Returning: Death In Paradise

Death In Paradise returns for a third series with a new actor at the helm.

2014-03-16_1529Death In Paradise returns for a third series on the fictitious Caribbean island of Saint-Marie, but this time with a new actor at the helm in Kris Marshall.

Marshall replaces outgoing lead actor Ben Miller. His debut hit UK screens in January and late last month the series was renewed for a fourth season.

Tragedy hits the tiny paradise island when a university reunion party that DI Richard Poole (Ben Miller) is attending is brought to an abrupt halt when one of the guests is murdered.

With the case proving particularly sensitive and challenging, a new British detective, DI Humphrey Goodman (Kris Marshall), arrives to help the team get to the bottom of the mysterious case.

Disorganised and gawky, Humphrey’s rather bumbling and accident-prone ways mean he doesn’t make a very good first impression on Camille, Fidel and Dwayne. All dishevelled British charm, but with a razor-sharp insight into crime solving and his own set of methods, will Humphrey be able to adjust to his new team and surroundings?

Stars Ben Miller, Kris Marshall, Sara Martins, Gary Carr, Danny John-Jules, Helen Baxendale, Mark Bazeley, Tim Dutton, Sophie Thomson.

7:30pm Saturday March 29 ABC1

  1. The BBC originally said Ben Miller was leaving (they lost the wrong lead). Then at the end of S2 they had a twist and him not leaving when it looked like he was going to. Miller said in an interview that he would be in the 3rd season. But now it appears only to write him out.

  2. When I watched the first ep of the series I assumed it was going to be some sort of dream / flashback. He was a core player and it’s just not the same without him.

  3. I like Kris Marshall in movies I have seen….but Ben Miller’s character is what made this show for me…I will still watch to see how it goes…but disappointed.
