2014-03-27_0125Long-running SBS show Living Black returns in April with an episode from Canberra, speaking to political leaders about issues affecting the Indigenous community.

Living Black will report from some of the most remote areas of Australia, delivering hard hitting news and current affairs stories impacting on communities. The team will chase the stories rarely covered by mainstream media and unearth the issues which local people face on a daily basis.

With Karla Grant, one of Australia’s foremost Indigenous female media personalities at the helm, the Living Black team includes video journalists Larteasha Griffen, Hannah Hollis, Laura Murphy-Oates and series producer Liz Deep-Jones.

Host Karla Grant will be presenting and reporting on the ground, exposing unique and significant stories from across the country. “Together the team and I will journey to some of the most remote corners of Australia, spending time with people getting to know them, delving deeper, and getting to the heart of their significant stories. We’ll continue to highlight issues that need attention and celebrate Indigenous achievements,” said Grant.

In 2014, Living Black will provide comprehensive and insightful coverage of Indigenous issues that are relevant for all Australians. From topical news and current affairs, to features on high profile Indigenous Australians and celebrating Indigenous triumphs – Living Black gives all Australians a solid place to learn more about the nation’s First Peoples.

Mondays at 5pm on SBS ONE from 7 April
Tuesdays at 8pm on NITV from 8 April
