So which is your all-time, favourite Simpsons episode?

ELEVEN wants to hear which Simpsons episode you love the most -so here is my vote.

2014-03-25_1039ELEVEN wants to hear about your favourite Simpsons episode of all time, as it celebrates their 25th anniversary.

Mine is probably “Dog of Death” the one where Homer tries to win the lottery and the family struggles to fund a much-needed operation for Santa’s Little Helper:

” If you were seventeen, we’d be rich! But nooooooooooo… You had to be ten.”

“I want to tell you about the most wonderful place in the world: Doggie heaven. In doggie heaven, there are mountains of bones, and you can’t turn around without sniffing another dog’s butt!”
“Is there a doggie hell?”
“Well… Of course, there couldn’t be a heaven if there weren’t a hell.”
“Who’s in there?”
“Oh, uh… Hitler’s dog… and that dog Nixon had, what’s his name um, Chester…”
” Checkers.”
“Yeah! One of the Lassies is in there, too. The mean one! The one that mauled Jimmy!”

“And pork chop night… will now be chub night.”
“Marge, I’ve figured out an alternative to giving up my beer. Basically, we become a family of travelling acrobats!”

“That was his dish… And that was his leash… And that’s where he took a wizz on the rug…”

On Wednesday, April 9, ELEVEN will devote the night’s Animation Fixation line-up to the winning episodes in a live countdown. Hosted by Couch Time’s Labby and Stav, the special will feature The Simpsons’ best moments as the hosts interact with fans via social media using the hashtag #Simpsons25.

The Simpsons is the longest-running scripted series in the history of television. It is the world’s most-watched US series, airing every hour of the day somewhere in the world.

  1. @Sean: Agree on Simpson Tide: Lots of fun moments: My favorite moment has to be Bart getting his ear pierced: only to walk out with a earring and a Starbucks coffee.

Other faves of mine include, Crepes of Wrath (where Bart goes to France), Sunday, Cruddy Sunday (Homer and pals go to the Superbowl, and ends up in Rupert Murdoch’s skybox!) and of course: Bart Vs Australia.

  2. The episode where the school burnt down and Willy said “save the wee turtles”, and then ran out with the turtles biting him and screaming “save me from the wee turtles”. Actually I have others too but that scene still makes me laugh out loud.

  3. All the early ones are my favourites. The very 1st xmas one where they get santa’s little helper the hockey one I still laugh about and so many more i cant even think of.

  4. One of my favourite lines from the episode “Burns, Baby Burns” (the one with Rodney Dangerfield)

“Well Mr. Burns, I’m your son. Oh, and I stepped on one of your peacocks. You got a paper towel?”

How it airs on Network Ten: “Well Mr. Burns, I’m your son [cut to commercial]

  5. Itchy and Scratchy Land, even though I’m pretty sure neither Ten or Eleven have ever aired it uncut…The 6pm “G” version was particularly awful.

  6. It’s a shame that if ELEVEN were to air any of the classic episodes, the likelihood is that they would still be airing the censored versions (a baffling decision considering that timezones are no longer an issue). I’d love to nominate “Simpson and Delilah” from season 2 but they, to this day, continue to air the censored cut from whenever it was that TEN originally broadcast the episode over 20 years ago. They cut the innocuous bit where Carl kisses Homer (the uncensored version of this very episode was given a G rating on VHS back in the day).

  7. Deep Space Homer.
“Hello, President Clinton? If anyone knew where to get some Tang it’d be you….Shut Up!”
“The only danger is if they send us to that horrible Planet of the Apes….wait a minute..”
“It’s just like that time I could have met Mr T at the mall…”
” …and I for one welcome our new insect overlords!”

  8. Radioactive Man is actually one of my faves, but why does the Vote list not allow you to submit your own but just gives you a few preselected choices to choose from grrr.

  9. Trash of the Titans- When Home becomes garbage commissioner and the town is forced to move five miles down the road.
    or
Homer Badman- The gummy Venus de Milo episode.

  10. Have to be the one where Homer gets a job as the chief programmer at Channel 10 in Australia and they end up winning the ratings. So funny, because as if Ten will ever win the ratings!
