V8 Supercars at FOX Sports starting line

V8 SupercarsFoxtel begins its 2014 coverage of the V8 Supercars season on Foxtel Play and Foxtel Go from tomorrow.

The Tasmania 400 takes place at Symmons Plains over the weekend on FOX Sports Plus 4 and sets in motion the joint six-year, $241 million media deal announced by V8 Supercars late last year.

Foxtel CEO, Richard Freudenstein, said, “The chequered flag is up and the wait is over, Australia’s pre-eminent motoring series, the V8 Supercars, is now available to Foxtel subscribers. Every race weekend, thousands of Australians look forward to the chance to witness the might of the V8 Supercars races and now fans will be able to enjoy the action on the move with Foxtel Go^, or via the convenience of Foxtel Play.”

From 2015, FOX Sports will offer full V8 Supercars coverage across all platforms, Live and in HD including all support races, qualifying sessions and championship races.

  1. Armchair Analyst

If the NBL is any guide and A League as well plus Netball the V8’s could loose support and interest if only a limited amount of Events are on FTA. Pay tv in this country is not competitive their is only Foxtel thats it. Thereby not many people can get it because of how expensive it is because of a lack of competition. In other words bad news for V8 Supercars australia.

  2. Matt White says “Live and free”
I would add “but only in SD”

If Foxtel say “Live and in HD”
    I’ll add “for a fee”

I hate to say it but I wish Seven still had the rights to the V8 Supercars next year. At least we would of been able to see all the complete races instead of a highlight package that TEN are going to be showing for the minor rounds.
