My Kitchen Rules “The Winner Announced” has pulled the biggest audience of the year so far.
It hit 2.6m viewers last night as South Australian mums Bree & Jess were declared the champs over WA friends Chloe & Kelly.
Another 2.3m viewers watched the bulk of the show “The Grand Final.”
The biggest audience was in Sydney where 732,000 watched the announcement of the winner over 722,000 in Melbourne and 461,000 in Brisbane.
‘The Winner Announced’ was down on 2012’s 3.13m viewers, but that aired on a Sunday at the earlier time of 6:30pm. Nevertheless, last night it was no contest in the ratings game.
Seven network share was a whopping 42.8% then Nine 22.9%, ABC 16.6%, TEN 13.8% and SBS 3.9%.
Seven’s other numbers were for Seven News (1.23m / 1.19m), Home and Away (1.1m), Intelligence (697,000) and Million Dollar Minute (586,000).

TEN Eyewitness News (661,000) led TEN then The Project (507,000 / 422,000), NCIS (504,000), NCIS: LA (491,000). Jamie and Jimmy’s Food Fight tanked at just 262,000.
Insight (179,000) led SBS ONE then Antiques Uncovered (178,000), SBS World News (143,000) and Dateline (121,000).
ABC2’s Ben & Holly’s Little Kingdom topped the multichannels at 306,000.

@marc, are you serious or just winding people up? So everything produced in this country is flawed and unprofessional compared to other countries? Hmm, so Australian TV productions are less professional than, say, Bangladeshi or Sudanese TV productions? Really????? Everything produced here is inferior compared to other countries? What a preposterous, unproven, sweeping statement to make, and highly insulting to the many thousands of professionals who work in front of and behind the cameras on TV productions in Australia.
Just watched catchup of grand final ad I was working late last night. I too must be one of the simpletons out there – thoroughly enjoyed it. And if the ratings are the measure of tv success…. the critics can bleat all they want….
