logies2012 025Good news. The Logie Awards will begin its Red Carpet at 7:30pm on Sunday April 27, with the Awards at 8pm.

This should hopefully offset last year’s belated finish at 12:30am.

Sonia Kruger and Jules Lund will host the Red Carpet before the ceremony begins at 8pm. First presenters have also been announced.

The timeslot suggests The Voice may not air on Logies night, but possibly the night after, with When Love Comes to Town a possible contender for 6:30pm. Nine is likely keeping its cards close to its chest until Seven declares the finale for My Kitchen Rules.

If The Voice is a non-starter for April 27, that will be music to TEN’s ears for the Modern Family: Australia episode.

In this programming chess-game, it’s a fascinating time….

Australia’s darling of music and television, Kylie Minogue, makes her return to the Logie stage. The Gold Logie winner and new Coach on The Voice will treat viewers to a world premiere performance of the latest single from her recently released album, Kiss Me Once.

International superstar and one of today’s most popular singer/songwriters, Ed Sheeran, will premiere his new single Sing, while rising British star John Newman will perform his worldwide smash hit, Love Me Again.

Energetic duo MKTO will bring a thrilling rendition of their single Thank You to the stage, and US R’n’B star Jason Derulo will showcase a one-off performance he has put together especially for the night.

A dazzling collection of TV stars will take to the stage in Crown’s Palladium Ballroom to award the Logie winners. The presenters include Hamish Blake & Andy Lee, Julia Morris, Lincoln Lewis, Dave Hughes, Noni Hazlehurst, Lisa Wilkinson, Craig McLachlan, Luke Jacobz, Darren McMullen, Shane Jacobson, Jessica Marais, Samantha Armatage, Gyton Grantley, Tina Arena, Emma Alberici, Jennifer Hawkins, Patrick Brammall, Amanda Kellar, Eddie McGuire and Richard Wilkins.

The ceremony will also include the announcement of this year’s inductee into the TV Week Hall of Fame and the crowning of Australia’s most popular television personality with the coveted TV Week Gold Logie Award.

  1. The harder thing to pick, is the Hall of Fame. I honestly think, that the decision about not announcing the inductee until the night, is a sign that the person TV Week have chosen this year (especially as it’s the 30th birthday of the HOF) is a inductee that no-one is expecting.

I personally hope (and many on this site do as well), that 2014 brings a second female Logies HOF inductee…

  2. If the organisers are pushing an earlier end time it must mean scott cam has a good lead for gold *sigh*. Last year the block, voice and house husbands were winning in primetime while X factor and offspring were winning past midnight. Now that tv week and 9 are less connected they should have more power to prevent it becoming a 9 fest, but it seems the opposite is happening.

  3. I worried that the Logie Awards winner announcement will get leaked for the third consecutive year. That is unfair, Channel Nine.
Why would viewers from Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth see the coverage as delayed?

  4. It’s pretty obvious that Scott Cam has won the gold unfortunately. His odds were $12.00 to 1 when betting open and have since jumped to $1.14 so clearly someone who is in the know is putting some major cash into betting. Happens every year.

  5. Any Australian musical performers perchance????

And we have the usual ridiculous situation where contenders for the Gold Logie are a mix of real people and actors portraying real people. What sort of contest is that??

    Stupid and unfair.
