In recent years the Sydney Morning Herald has been bestowing its annual Bogie Awards for the best of the worst in television.
The Tribal Mind column, penned by David Dale, has today revealed its 2014 ‘winners.’ While the votes were modest, just 130, there are some wins that won’t suprise any regular viewer.
Nine won Network most contemptuous of viewers.
My Kitchen Rules won Most Overexposed.
Two and a Half Men was voted Furthest Past its Use-by Date.
The Bolt Report won Most Embarrassing Program and its host won The Black Bogie (of course that’s a show produced by rival publisher, News Corp).

I have only ever watched about 5 minutes of The Bolt Report….that was enough for me.
He is a little too left for my liking
I watch Andrew Bolt. I enjoy his show and respect his opinions. It’s not the most rivetting TV, but I find it a breath of fresh air compared to the left wing bias of most TV luvvies.
His show may not rate as highly as some others but surely the best television represents a range of opinions, even those with which I personally disagree (hello Q&A).
Am I no longer welcome on this site???
@Mark W
I could only vote Sir? Andrew Bolt if it was in the ‘ Best Comedy if only it wasn’t So Serious’ category.
@JoeBloggs
I wonder if those who do watch Sir? Andrew Bolt, are possibly doing exactly the same as those who watched the failed ‘Paul Henry’ debacle, not all being for the very obvious bias, but instead only watched to see how much influence that vested interests can lead to the loss, and down to the current stagnate viewer number situation that Network Ten has been forced into.
Sadly for Network Ten, whilst one such interest who persistently inflicted Paul Henry upon Ten and us viewers has departed, others still remain.
Possibly even worse with Andrew Bolt’s extended rants, as it seems his affiliates are miners, one who only knows how to dig deeper and deeper holes,and another who seems to be hell bent in undermining a judgement that went against Sir? Andrew Bolt.
Thanks, I’d forgotten about this. Most of my nominations ended up winning except I nominated Stephen Fry for ‘Most Exposed’.
You know, I don’t recall disagreeing with any Bogies winner of the last few years but every year there are a couple of Logies winners where my first reaction is WTF.
I wonder how many of that enormous sample have even watched the Bolt Report before?
It’s a oity there isn’t a Best Comedy show..The Bolt Report would win hands down.The host, Andrew Bolt, would win best comedian too.
There are three SMH readers who want to eff Peter Overton…
