TV chef Nigella Lawson has been banned from entering the US because she has admitted using cocaine.
Lawson was stopped from taking a flight from Heathrow to Los Angeles on Sunday, the Daily Mail reports.
The 54-year-old ‘Domestic Goddess’ was forced to confess under oath during a trial last year that she had used cocaine seven times and smoked cannabis in front of her children.
While Scotland Yard decided not to act over her confession, the US authorities appear to be less forgiving.
The report suggests she tried to enter the US by registering online for permission to travel and confirming she had not been arrested or convicted of offences including taking illegal drugs.
“She didn’t seem to say much, but she did not look happy,” said an onlooker. “She could not get on the flight so she had to turn around and leave.”
A permanent ban would impact severely on Lawson’s potential earnings, given she appears on The Taste for the ABC network.

Good on them. TV and Sports “celebrities” are not above the law and should not be treated as if they were. (though they frequently are)
Omg, half of Hollywood uses cocaine ffs.
pot …
kettle …
I’d love to see The UK get petty and go tit for tat with someone from the U.S
@J Bar – I agree LOL
Come on you people.
Snoop is a US citizen, they have to let him in.
Bieber (AFAIK) has only been done DUI, they don’t keep you out for that.
Brand – well, has he actually been convicted of anything? And in any case, is widely assumed to be clean and sober for a decade.
I can just see the UK now refusing Bill Clinton in the reprisal!
Maybe Nigella should try the “but I didn’t inhale” defence, which has had previous success in the US.
So how come someone like Snoop Lion (Dog or whatever he is called now) is able to leave to come & go from the US. Same goes for Russell Brand. Why is he different to Nigella?
That’s “purposes”. (David, we really need an edit function).
Nigella will need to apply to the US Embassy for a waiver. For immigration purposed the US regard a confession as a conviction.
I’m not sure which the US would think worse – the cocaine use or smoking doobies in front of the children.
So why do they let Bieber back in?
