Debbie’s back… back from boarding school and back with Sue and Gary, who are delighted and the trio are back to their old tricks and their old haunts. But Debbie soon realises it’s not the same. She has to share her bedroom with Cheryl; her science teacher, Mr Candy, is marrying a pregnant Vicki; and she may be back on the beach, but now she has to watch both Gary and Sue surf.

Sue and Woody, meanwhile, have grown even closer during their ‘sexperiment’. Sue asks a shocked Woody if he wants to go round with her.

8:30pm Wednesday on TEN.

  1. I really hope it’s not the end of the show, although I did get that impression at the end of last nights episode.

In my opinion it’s the best show on TV and the only show I watch on FTA. It’s a pity ch 10 has such a small audience, so not many people watch it.

If they showed it on the same night as Offspring it may have received more viewers.

  2. The ad at the end of the episode implied that it’s the series (rather than season) finale (i.e. “You’ve followed them for two years…now find out how it all ends” or words to that effect). I hope I’m misinterpreting this, though, because it really is a good series that deserves another season.

  3. Isn’t “series” used to refer to the show itself, whereas “season” refers to separate “blocks” of episodes of a particular “series”? For example, you’d never hear anyone say that “Friends” lasted 10 “series” – it would be 10 “seasons”, since “Friends” is the “series” and 10 is the number of “blocks” of episodes it had….no? Anyway, clearly, you weren’t implying anything with your choice of words, so it’s a moo point (Joey reference intentional ;-).

  4. David’s wording suggests that “Puberty Blues” is done and dusted, unfortunately (i.e. “penultimate series episode”, as opposed to “Season episode”).

  5. Puberty Blues is the best drama on our screens in many years since Love My Way & The Secret Life of Us.

Hope Ten renews it for a third season. I mean they did renew Wonderland which is not that great and has the same numbers as Puberty Blues.

  6. I also have been very curious about Ashleigh not making any public appearances for a long time.I did see her on Miss Fisher ABC1 last week. I wonder if they are hiding her for an obvious reason? Hope that isn’t the case here. Puberty Blues has grown as a show this season.Once they were able to move from the book version into solid writing, the change has made watching it much more enjoyable.

  7. David it’s interesting that Ashleigh Cummings, who plays Debbie, has done zero publicity for this series. She’s basically disappeared from public view, while Brenna Harding and Charlotte Best have been rolled out, including presenting at the Logies on the weekend.
