Robert Hughes found guilty of further charge

Former Hey Dad! star is been found guilty of another charge, as the jury is dismissed.

rhugFormer Hey Dad! star Robert Hughes has been found guilty of another charge, following his conviction yesterday of nine guilty verdicts, including two counts of sexual intercourse without consent.

The latest charge relates to committing an act of indecency at Channel Seven’s Epping studio in 1990.

However, the jury has been unable to reach a verdict on the remaining count of inciting a 15-year-old to commit an act of indecency in 1988.

Judge Peter Zahra had said he would have accepted a majority 11 to one verdict.

Hughes, 65, sat quietly in the dock as the verdict was read out.

Throughout his six-week trial, the jury heard how Hughes abused five girls during the 1980s and 1990s.

But Hughes has steadfastly denied all the allegations, supported by his partner, theatrical agent Robyn Gardiner.

The jury has now been discharged. Sentencing proceedings begin on May 2nd.
