If you’ve attended a live television show in recent years in Melbourne or Sydney then chances are you are familiar with all-round good guy, Michael Pope.
Pope is set to host a new ad-branded game show each morning on 7TWO, SellOut, where prizes seen on the show are promoted on discounts to viewers via second screen apps.
A website and video spruiking for clients describes SellOut is the new “transactive TV format, where everybody wins!”
Pope has worked as a TV host, announcer and actor on such shows as Total Recall, Blockbusters, Battle of the Sexes, Here’s Humphrey and Col’n Carpenter, Neighbours and All Together Now.
He has also produced on such shows as Comedy Slapdown, The Price is Right and It’s a Knockout and hosts interview podcasts at An Audience with the Pope (couldn’t somebody turn that into a show?).
SellOut will air at 11:30am weekdays from June.

No. Just no.
Sounds like a bucket of turd.
David, He also hosted “the trivial video show” a quiz show back in the 80’s. It was made in brisbane and I was on it! I came last in my episode but Michael was a really nice bloke so I wish him well.
Sounds very complicated to me…
Everybody wins…no thanks.
Wow – it’s like product placement, an advertisment, and an advertorial all rolled into one!
Everybody wins! — except for unemployed shopaholics and brain cells.
