Seven ob-doc series turns cameras on Bali

Seven turns its cameras on Bali for a warts and all observational series.

What Really Happens in BaliA new observational-documentary series on Aussie tourists in Bali is coming soon to Seven.

What Really Happens in Bali, produced by Eyeworks (Kalgoorlie Cops, Kings Cross ER, Being Lara Bingle, Meet the Frockers) will be “a no-holds-barred look at what really goes down in Australia’s favourite tourist destination.”

It will include acces sto emergency rooms at BIMC and Sanglah Hospitals, Kerobokan Prison, schoolies on holiday, Bali Fashion Week, detoxing celebrities, expats with business ventures and “even the self-confessed Aussie lothario who claims he’s slept with over 100 women in 90 days.”

It will also include victims returning after the 2002 Bali bombings.

Seven’s Head of Factual Programming, Dan Meenan, said: “Some of the footage is almost hard to believe with the show’s cameras capturing serious accidents and injuries as they happen. It’s edge-of-the-seat real life drama.”

Managing Director of Eyeworks Australia, John McAvoy, said: “Bali brings out the best and the worst of Aussies abroad, from honeymooners to death row prisoners to long term expats. Like the island itself, this series offers something for everyone.

David Mason is Executive Producer. The series is narrated by former Airways narrator, Corinne Grant.

Meanwhile Nine is also producing The Embassy: Bangkok.
