The Devil’s Playground to premiere in France

Upcoming Foxtel series The Devil’s Playground will have its international premiere in France later this month, after being selected for the Series Mania festival in Paris.
It is one of three Australian television production selected, joining ABC’s The Gods of Wheat Street and The Moodys in the Comedy section.
Series Mania will this year showcase 55 series from 17 countries worldwide ranging from Russia to South Korea, Canada to Belgium, Poland to Brazil. The festival is the biggest European TV Fiction event in Europe with 15,000 spectators and 2,000 accredited members of the French and European industry attending showcases, masterclasses and forums.
The Professional window, where latest local hits are showcased to prospective French and European buyers, will feature A Place to Call Home and Love Child.
Previous festivals have showcased East West 101, The Circuit, Tangle, A Moody Christmas, Miss Fisher’s Murder Mysteries, Puberty Blues, The Slap, The Straits, Please Like Me and Redfern Now -with several landing French broadcasters.
US titles this year include True Detective, Looking, Masters of Sex and Silicon Valley.
François-Pier Pelinard-Lambert international curator told TV Tonight, “The quality, this year, was amazing and the choice was very tough.
“I saw everything from Wentworth to Secret and Lies, from Wonderland to The Time of our Lives. I had a ball preparing this edition.
“Long live Australian drama!”
The Devil’s Playground from Matchbox Pictures is expected to air mid year on Foxtel.
