Airdate: I Wanna Marry Harry

US faux Reality series will screen Sunday nights on TEN. But will it last?

Matthew Hicks as Prince Harry.jpgTEN will premiere US reality series  I Wanna Marry Harry at 6:30pm Sunday June 1st.

Really not convinced this meets TEN’s pitch for 25-54 year old viewers, but hey, whaddo I know?

Now open to suggestions on how many weeks readers reckon this will survive in its timeslot….

Good luck to MasterChef.

Co-produced by Zig Zag Productions and Ryan Seacrest Productions, the cheeky reality show enlists Englishman Matthew Hicks to convince 12 blissfully ignorant women that he is Prince Harry.

Matthew is an average English chap who receives the royal treatment and an upper crust makeover before meeting 12 single American women who are all searching for Prince Charming.

I Wanna Marry “Harry” follows the women as they fight for their chance to marry “Prince Harry”, while living at an English estate.

Matthew must convince these beautiful women that he is a member of the Royal Family. If he does, will they fall for the crown or fall in love with the real him?

Each week, Matthew (or “Sir”, as the ladies call him) handpicks one lucky lady to take on an extravagant adventure, while another’s dream of “happily ever after” is dashed and she must leave the estate.

When Matthew narrows down his choice to one woman, he will finally have to admit the truth about his royal masquerade. The winning lady then must decide if she can look past the pretence and love this gent, who is more pauper than prince.

6:30pm Sunday June 1st on TEN.

  1. I give it three months before being sent to the late night time slot and then to the TV Graveyard. Why not they put on if they want a dating show Excused. It’s American but proven and does well in it’s home market.

  2. Please guys, leave the Viewer of Eleven alone and dont inflict this dreck on them. I am sure they would prefer to keep their repeats of Cops, Cheers, Star Trek, 7th Heaven, 1600 Penn, The Simpsons, Futurama, Charmed, Frasier, Becker, Glee plus and Supernatural and Neighbours rather than Tonga and New Caledonia’s Next Top Model or repeats of Bondi Vet’s Will be Undercover Bosses and Survive in the Shire with Laura Bingle.

  3. FFS, this is so obviously an Eleven show – you know, their supposed actual youth channel. Ten are really trying hard to drive the last few 25-54’s away. I have no sympathy left for them any more. I give it 3 weeks.

  4. @Karlos I have to disagree with you there, I reckon it will last one week before being shunted off to 11 (where it really belongs) and we will then have even more repeats of Modern Family

  5. This is such a bad move by TEN. I agree with johntv, they are bringing bad ratings upon themselves. This show will last two weeks before it is moved to Eleven.

  6. I think Ten will run the entire season in that timeslot. Lets face it. With The Voice and House Rules dominating Sunday, Monday and Tuesday, Ten are probably wise not putting their best programming again it.

  7. I used to feel sorry for Ten but I no longer do. They keep making the same obvious errors over and over again.

This is prime Friday nights on Eleven fodder – it would sit perfectly with Snog, Marry, Avoid.

  8. Im thinking this will be similar to Celebrity Splash – big ratings for ep 1 (the curiosity factor), then a steep, sharp decline each episode thereafter.

  9. What on earth happened to ‘The Millers’? Here one moment, we recorded, started to watch but, ‘no thanks.’

Did everyone else share the same sentiment?

  10. Moron TV ….. and a huge backwards for Ten who have been trying to rebuild …. this is just Bingle and the shire all over again …….

  11. If Ten have half a brain they’ll have a backup program ready to go for the following Sunday because I can’t see it lasting more than a week. It really should be airing on Eleven.
